More Babylon stuff: 'God' punished humanity when it reached for the stars (heaven), not by giving everyone different language but differing their genetic code so that humans are alien to one another. The mechanism is not God per say but rather a consequence of man's own hubris (we can call that God I suppose) in spreading themselves too thin with space travel.
